Who are the Lumiere brothers and what do they do?
- The Lumière brothers, Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas (19 October 1862, Besançon, France 10 April 1954, Lyon) and Louis Jean (5 October 1864, Besançon, France – 7 June 1948, Bandol), were among the first filmmakers in history.

Lumière Cinématographe, made by August and Louis Lumière, and Jules Carpentier, France, c. 1895. The Cinématographe was a camera, printer and projector designed by brothers Auguste and Louis Lumière. It was first demonstrated at a scientific meeting in March 1895.
